Welcome to my art world!
My name is Eva Sofia Liljestrand
My name is Eva Sofia Liljestrand
Somewhere between abstract and non figurativ painting is a place where I create. My art is what's beyond and not always obvious. It's a place where the eye can wonder or rest, maybe find serenity for a moment in a piece created as a pastel palett interpretation of nature.
My watercolor pieces are painted on 200-640 grained watercolor paper sheets using water color from Windsor&Newton, Daniel Smith Extra Fine Watercolors and H.Schmincke.
My acrylic pieces are painted on white canvas using acrylic color from Windsor&Newton. The strong abstract motives comes from the urge of freedom and feeling harmony when creating abstract pieces. It's a true soul feeling projected on the canvas.
Nature photo
My nature photos gives me inspiration when pondering over the small parts of the larger natural ecosystem of planet earth.
My photo art is a combination of original art and mixed digital media and graphic lithography pieces.
Sketches
My sketches are created with live women models during courses at Stockholm School of Arts & Crafts and Stockholm School of Arts.
Material: Pencil and coal on simple sketch paper sheets.

Somewhere between abstract and non figurativ painting is a place where I create. My art is what's beyond and not always obvious. It's a place where the eye can wonder or rest, maybe find serenity for a moment in a piece created from what's within.
My interest in painting and creating started early when I as a child found peace within myself sitting by the kitchen table drawing. I grew up in a crafts family and was also inspired by family artist friends dedicating their time for their art.
When the time came to decide for my self and my academical studies, I choose to combine my art interest in a multidisciplinary education together with design and business studies, a collaboration with the University of Arts, Crafts, and Design in Stockholm.
My first exhibition was in 2015, Stockholm at Galleri Bellman in a 60 square meter space, where I arrange the exhibition with help from my parents managing the hanging of the art and the catering for the VIP event.
I have always kept painting since childhood and alongside my professional career as a business administrator creating in my spare time. In 2017 I left my career and has kept painting and managed yet two more exhibitions, one in 2019 (joint exhibition) and one solo exhibition in 2020 during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Since 2019, I have decided to focus on water color art and will exhibit as soon as my next portfolio is complete.
Hope to see you then and tune in here for updates on next exhibition!
Upcoming event
Klimatsalongen 2-11 september 2022
Street art event for the climate
My academical studies at the department of physical geography and International relations and economic history in Sweden have provided me with firm ground for my believe, action and participation in this climate event. The cause is what drives me and my reason for creating my art. Around Sweden there will be posters hanging in the streets by different artist participating with their respective contribution.
